Sunil's Prawn Curry #sikandalouscuisine

This is the Goan way - no onions tomatoes , garlic or ginger - comes out delicious and that's how we cook prawns at home in Goa. This is also oil free !

750 Grams Prawns - Clean , keep tails.
5-7 Petals Kokum- Substitute with tamarind to taste.​
1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Powder - gives color , not in the original recipe.

Make Paste :
1 Coconut- Chopped small.
1 Tablespoon Lightly Roasted Coriander Seeds.
​10-12 Dried Red Chilies.

Grind the above to a paste , ideally sil butta I used a mixi with water. don't strain it . Add water to get the desired gravy.
Bring to a rolling boil , then add in kokum and cook till you get the balance of flavors - cooking time about 15 minutes.

Once you get the flavors you like , slip in the prawns , cook 1-2 minutes and take off heat . I saute my prawns and then add them in . A simple no fuss delicious recipe.
