Grilled Artichokes

This exotic delicacy, the globe artichoke is actually the unopened edible flower bud of a thistle-like plant whose Latin name is Cynara scolymus. Bursting with health benefits from cancer fighting properties to liver re generation , the exotic artichoke has been de glamorized and now often finds itself floating  parboiled in a can of brine !

Wash dry and halve the canned artichoke , dress it lightly with a coat of garlic and butter to which you may add minced chives salt and pepper .
Place in individual shallow ramekin like baking dishes and grill over medium high heat for 5 minutes or until the artichoke slightly browns , thus re transforming the canned artichoke into an exotic starter or side dish .
