Green Salad With Wasabi Sesame Oil Dressing .
1 1/2 Teaspoons Wasabi Paste
2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
2 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
1 Teaspoon Balsamic Vinegar
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 Teaspoon Sugar
Salt to taste
In a jar mix all the ingredients together , taste and adjust flavors . The dressing o its own will be sharp - or should be , which is fine because the blandness of the vegetables will balance it out .
As always blanch greens in boiling water to which you have added 1 teaspoon of sugar . This will keep your greens looking very green and appetizing . Drain , plunge into iced water to prevent further cooking . Again drain after 10 minutes , get rid of all the water and when serving generously drizzle the dressing over the salad .
When using sesame oil specially , its nice to finish the salad by sprinkling lightly roasted sesame seeds onto the salad when serving . I normally do that , forgot this time !
Make sure your greens aren't blanched for over 30 seconds . You want a salad with a crunch !
