Methi Muttar ( Fenugreek and Peas )





Methi Muttar ( Fenugreek and Peas )
There are no quantities here , so adjust according to your taste .

I used approximately 500 grams of shelled peas and 1 cup chopped fresh methi / fenugreek

Clean and chop the methi , should be chopped fine , salt for 20 minutes , squeeze and wash thoroughly to get rid of the bitterness and salt . Squeeze dry .

In boiling water to which 1 teaspoon of sugar has been added ( to retain the fresh green color ) , plunge the peas and par boil 1 minute , drain .

In a bit of smoking mustard oil saute the methi for 2 minutes , then add one table spoon of garlic paste and the peas , salt and haldi / turmeric .

I also like to add whole green chilies for flavour .Cook till peas are done . The idea is that you saute the peas in methi !

For some extra aroma mix 1 teaspoon of kasoori methi leaves while warming to serve . ( optional )
Garnish with fresh dhania if you so desire .

A beautiful blend of sweetness with methis slightly bitter taste !
